Read in this order
First round, then movement, then the buy menu. Earn Credits and redeem codes only after you can finish a Casual match. Maps, settings, trading, and mode rules are next once the round makes sense.
Which [UPDATE!] Counter Blox guides are published?
Play your first Counter Blox round
Join Casual, pick a side, buy during freeze time, and finish the round by eliminating the other team or resolving the bomb.
Stop before you shoot: movement and gunplay
Counter-strafe to reset rifle accuracy, peek with A and D, and choose tap, burst, or spray from the gun you bought.
Spend round cash without wasting the buy
Use round cash for armor, a rifle, and utility. Credits never buy guns. Refund mistakes during freeze time.
Earn Credits from matches and contracts
Credits come from public Casual, Unranked, Deathmatch placement, and contracts. VIP servers do not pay them.
Redeem a code, and tell a reprint from a real one
Use the Home menu box after 24 hours of playtime. This archive lists expired strings and leaves unresolved reprints off the active list.
Learn one map before you queue the next
Start on Dust II, name the sites and mid, then use the radar callout under the minimap. Mode pools are not the same.
Make the crosshair and radar readable
Open the crosshair editor with the apostrophe key, cut particle clutter, and use C to crouch on a Mac.
Cases, inventory value, and the trading servers
Cases cost 50 Credits. Trading servers open at 100 inventory value. Round cash and Credits stay separate.
Choose Casual, Unranked, Deathmatch, or a private server
Casual is first to 8 on 14-player servers. Unranked is first to 13 with friendly fire. Deathmatch pays only the top three.
